Stratovarius
Club..22/Athens..2006
Stratovarius played in Club 22, Athens , on 15th of January. It was
an event that gathered quite a few people in the club, filling it to
it's full capacity,(about 1000 plus) and, I must add, that I have never
seen so many long-long haired people, under one roof before...!!!...
The crowd ambience in the club was great, even before the show started.
There were two giant screens, placed to the left and to the right of
the stage, displaying humorous and interesting moments from the band's
touring...That kept us entertained until the band came on stage - and
they showed up full of energy and smiley faces. These guys, not only
they are fun and funny to watch play music, but you know that they
mean business once they are up there in front of you....
It was a non-stop party, from the beginning to the end; the crowd and
band sang together, and in a miraculous way, there was enough dancing
going on, if you take into concieration how packed the club was.
Especially for the "Father Time" song, the audience went crazy...
We can say that, (apart from being an absolutely wonderful event)
it was a "politically correct" concert: the guys in the band, refered
to us as "Hellas" (the correct name for Greece), when they played
"United", they displayed the Decleration of Human Rights, on the giant
screens, and occasionally they displayed a She-Jesus for some of the
songs. To honor the band, two boys and a girl waved the Suomi (Finnish)
flag at the very back of the venue.
As for the evening's memories, after I realized that my camera's
baterries were low to guaranty any good photos (some came out good,
regardless), I made sure I reserved the lights technician's copy of
the set list to take back with me and also, got for myself the last of
the Stratovarius ladies' top.
